Stainless steel electrolytic polishing is a bright treatment for the surface of stainless steel workpieces. The workpiece is polished as the anode and the insoluble metal is the cathode. Both electrodes are immersed in the electrolytic tank at the same time. Direct current is applied to produce selective anode dissolution, and the surface of the workpiece is gradually leveled. So as to achieve the effect of increasing the surface brightness of the workpiece.
The Theory :
the metal ions separated from the workpiece and the phosphoric acid in the polishing solution form a phosphate film that is adsorbed on the surface of the workpiece. This mucosa is thinner at the protrusions and thicker at the recesses, due to the high current density at the protrusions The dissolution is fast, the unevenness changes continuously with the flow of the mucous membrane, and the rough surface is gradually leveled.
